Not Global Warming... Global Weirding!
Many areas of the world will get colder, like San Francisco, as other areas of the world grow much warmer in summer months. There is no real way to predict or know how this planet will shift in temperatures as it warms, cools, melts and locks in more sun's energy into our atmosphere.
The planetary shifts are upon us now... not in the future, reminding us to get aligned, reduce all our GHG emissions and realize the way we have been treating the planet for too long. It is a bold reminder that our way of using the planet as an endless resource has come to an end period. It is time to shift and evolve as the planet attempts to deal with the human impact on its system.

2012: Time for Change Film Intro...

"2012: Time for Change"
Projects a radical alternative to apocalyptic doom and gloom. Directed by Emmy Award nominee Joao Amorim, the film follows journalist Daniel Pinchbeck, author of the bestselling 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl, on a quest for a new paradigm that integrates the archaic wisdom of tribal cultures with the scientific method. As conscious agents of evolution, we can redesign post-industrial society on ecological principles to make a world that works for all. Rather than breakdown and barbarism, 2012 will herald the birth of a regenerative planetary culture, where collaboration replaces competition, where exploration of psyche and spirit becomes the new cutting edge, replacing the sterile materialism that has pushed our world to the brink.
Interviews with design scientists, anthropologists, physicists such as Dean Radin, Barbara Marx Hubbard, John Todd and Paul Stamets and celebrities such as Sting, Ellen Page and Gilberto Gil.

HUMANS- The next Endangered Species!
So maybe we should be regarded as a pest or virus and the earth is our host-carrier. The carrier is getting sick and may expel us from it's back soon, 2012 perhaps? Would it wake folks up to know that we are killing species at a rate of 1000 times the norm?
Should we be having more kids?
Who should be born, 1st world consumers or 3rd world developing nation poverty strains?
Does China have the right idea controlling the birth rate?
Are there too many people on the earth now...

This Aussie Baby town don't want the Bottle!

The small town of Bundanoon, New South Wales, Australia has taken the revolutionary forward thiking step of simply banning all bottled waters in their town. They have instead sold reusable bottles and created town public drinking fountains all over the small area. I feel that bans allow for choice still, as long as the choice is a more sustainable one.
AP Wire- " An Australian town pulled all bottled water from its shelves Saturday and replaced it with refillable bottles in what is believed to be a world-first ban.
Hundreds of people marched through the picturesque rural town of Bundanoon to mark the first day of its bottled water ban by unveiling a series of new public drinking fountains, said campaign spokesman John Dee.
Shopkeepers ceremoniously removed the last bottles of water from their shelves and replaced them with reusable bottles that can be filled from fountains inside the town's shops or at water stations in the street.
"Every bottle today was taken off the shelf and out of the fridges so you can only now buy refillable bottles in shops in Bundanoon," Dee told AFP!!
San Francisco banned the plastic bag and now we have paper bags being used and sold. I wonder which will have a longer lasting effect on the town and the environment?
Way to go BUNDANOON!!!

Survive 2012!

The Long Count Calendar of the Ancient Mayans ends on Dec 21 2012. There isn't much information regarding what the Mayans thought would occur in 2012, but the consensus of opinion is that there will be great change. To some people this means a positive, spiritual change. Others, like myself, consider that a catastrophic event may have been predicted.
Survive 2012 is a non-fiction book I (Robert Bast) am working on. Progress is currently slow as need to work hard in the corporate world to build the necessary funds for a bunker or two. My thoughts & plans are constantly evolving in line with my continual research. Survive 2012 is also the name of this website which is an online version of the completed chapters, some half-finished chapters and some other bits and pieces.
Future chapters will look into:
- Global Grids
- Evolution
- Unicorns
- Space Threats
- Mysterious Elders
- Carbon Dating
- Myths
- Doomsday Scenarios
- How and where to survive

Zeitgeist films the on NY Times...finally!!!

Two hours into Z-Day, the educational forum associated with the online movie “Zeitgeist,” Peter Joseph, the film’s director and the evening’s M.C., stepped out from behind his lectern and walked forward earnestly on the stage.
“It’s time that we wake up,” he intoned, speaking solemnly through a wireless clip-on mike. “The doomsday scenario, the big contraction, might be happening right now. The system of monetary exchange is — in the face of advancing technology — completely obsolete.”
This drew wild applause from the sold-out crowd, a patchwork of perhaps 900 people who paid $10 a head on Sunday night to sit in a packed auditorium at the Borough of Manhattan Community College on Chambers Street near the West Side Highway. Z-Day events were taking place from New England to New Zealand, but this was the big one: the marquee happening with the marquee names.

The Mystery of 2012 News...1375 days to 2012!
About This Site:
In 1989, Sounds True published its first audio program about the Mayan prophecy that “reality and time” would end on December 21, 2012.
In 2006, as 2012 loomed nearer, we decided to contact the world’s leading thinkers and teachers on this topic to learn the truth. What started as an exercise in healthy skepticism quickly shifted to bona fide wonder and intrigue. We discovered:
- Scientific evidence that the earth and sun will be experiencing electromagnetic shifts that have a measurable impact on human physiology and cognition
- Historical and cross-cultural awareness of this epic shift
- Most importantly, that the Mayans predicted not a horrific biblical “Armageddon,” but a monumental turning point in human and planetary consciousness—leaving the outcome open to our own volition
This site is intended to keep you up-to-date about the latest information and insights regarding the 2012 phenomenon from the most reputable authors and researchers on the topic that we’ve found. While we hope you’ll take an interest in our book and audio titles, you should find this site valuable in and of itself.
Key pages to see:
- Introduction—Sounds True Publisher Tami Simon introduces The Mystery of 2012 anthology.
- Mayan Calendar 101—Renowned independent scholar John Major Jenkins explains the Mayan Calendar.
- Janosh—Learn more about the incredible artist whose work serves as the primary influence of the art on this site.
- Events—As 2012 draws closer, many organizations will be hosting seminars and conferences around this fascinating topic. We will be noting these events here.
- Shop—We have many educational resources contributed by the most brilliant minds writing about the transformative nature of these times including: Gregg Braden, John Major Jenkins, Jean Houston, Peter Russell, Joanna R. Macy, PhD, Daniel Pinchbeck, and many more.
- 2012 countdown widget—Don’t forget to add the widget in the upper right corner to your iGoogle home page as a Google Gadget. Embedding code will soon be available so you can include this cool widget on your own website, MySpace page, etc.
We’re very excited to engage with you regarding one of the most potentially transformative and mysterious phenomena of the times, not to mention human history.
