Better Place- Electric Car Battery Switch in Japan!

Better Place Battery Switch Technology Demonstration

Demonstration of the world’s first automated battery switch technology for electric vehicles in Yokohama, Japan.

Safety, recyclability, environmental friendliness

The safety of today’s battery technology is unprecedented. Better Place uses advanced lithium-ion batteries made from non-toxic materials. While early generations of lithium-ion batteries had a propensity to overheat, today’s lithium-ion battery has high abuse tolerance, low heat evolution, stable cathode material, and an intelligent pack design that ensures consumer safety.

A lithium-ion battery can also be recycled with minimal environmental impact. More than 95% of the battery materials can be recovered and reused.

A Bio-Energy Bag for the Oceans!

NASA’s design calls for using large plastic bags, made of forward-osmosis membranes, and filled with sewage for offshore harvesting of algae for bio-fuel. These plastic bags or enclosures will be made of the same membranes that NASA is currently exploring for recycling dirty water in space missions using forward-osmosis. NASA engineers would like to call it yet another example of using the technology developed for space travel, instead for making the “Spaceship Earth” more sustainable.

Survive 2012!

The Long Count Calendar of the Ancient Mayans ends on Dec 21 2012. There isn't much information regarding what the Mayans thought would occur in 2012, but the consensus of opinion is that there will be great change. To some people this means a positive, spiritual change. Others, like myself, consider that a catastrophic event may have been predicted.

Survive 2012 is a non-fiction book I (Robert Bast) am working on. Progress is currently slow as need to work hard in the corporate world to build the necessary funds for a bunker or two. My thoughts & plans are constantly evolving in line with my continual research. Survive 2012 is also the name of this website which is an online version of the completed chapters, some half-finished chapters and some other bits and pieces.

Future chapters will look into:

  • Global Grids
  • Evolution
  • Unicorns
  • Space Threats
  • Mysterious Elders
  • Carbon Dating
  • Myths
  • Doomsday Scenarios
  • How and where to survive
